Justin and Sarah’s trip to Dubai in February of 2017.
Day1: Calgary to Toronto, then to Dubai. Landed in Dubai Airport at around 10 pm. Met with Sarah’s childhood best friend and her fiancé. We checked into Copthorne Hotel near Deira City Centre.
Day2: Visited Deira City Centre, then in the evening went to Caribou Coffee for Sarah's best friend's wedding prep.
Day 3: Walked around Historic village, Gold Souq and Old Souq. We had a fruity drink at Ashwaq Cafeteria.
Day4: Took the metro to Dubai Mall, which had indoor ice skating and aquarium. Then walked over to Burj Khalifa and went to the observation deck of the world’s tallest building.
Day 5: Slept in for the day, and then met with few of Sarah’s high school friends and went out for dinner at Al Hallab for authentic Arabic cuisine.
Day 6: Visited Dubai Museum for 2 AED per person. We also walked around Al Fahidi Historic Neighborhood.
Day 7: Ronjoy’s wedding day! Sarah was one of the bridesmaid for Ronjoy’s church wedding, followed by a reception at a local park.
Day 8: Took a cab to Jumeirah beach. It was the coldest day during our visit to Dubai. Took the metro to Mall of Emirates, which had the indoor skiing.
Day 9: Desert Safari excursion. A tour guide from Sand Trax came to our hotel and picked us up in an SUV. We went into the desert for a camel ride, ATV ride, belly-dancing performance and Arabic/Mediterranean dinner.
Day 10: Sarah’s half sister met us at our hotel and then we took a 3-hour bus ride to Fujairah to meet Sarah’s Dad and his family.
